Experience Hendrix tour 2007 and 2008
This short tour made a stop on Oct 20, 2007 in the famous and nicely restored Palace Theatre in Waterbury, CT which is not far from my shop.
I was invited to the show by Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Doyle Bramhall-II as they wanted to check out some pedals.
The Experience Hendrix show was amazing.... Hubert Sumlin (Howlin'
Wolf) , Buddy Guy, Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Mick Taylor (Rolling
Stones), Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox from Jimi's band,
Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon (SRV's Double Trouble), Robert
Randolph,
Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his singer Noah Hunt, Doyle Bramhall II,
Eric Gales, Kenny Olson (Kid Rock), Corey Glover (Living Colour),
Andy Aledort... awesome lineup.
Many of them I have worked with, and will soon work with most
of the others!
KWS and Doyle each picked up 4 pedals and they both put the Bichorus right on their pedalboards for the show. Kenny also put the AR20DLXL Analog Delay and KoT on his board and seemed to really like the delay (his line6 died).
Here are some pictures I took.
Doyle playing drums at the sound check, getting them to sound good.
Kenny Olson, Robbie, Corey, and Andy Jamming it out.
Tommy, KWS and Robert:
Mick (as Jimi) with Billy and Mitch:
Billy, Eric, and Andy:
Buddy and Hubert, my favorite shot!

My new rhythm section, Billy and Mitch!
Some pedalboards, DB-II and Eric Gales:
KWS's board and foot, this pedalboard was about the same a year later except the Dunlop Octavio replaced the RM Octavia and a Dunlop Uni-vibe was added.
I also took a REALLY short video of Kenny, Tommy, and Chris playing. Kenny had my delay and chorus on.
It was the most fun I have had in a long time, I hope they can do it again soon!
2008 Tour
In October 2008 they came back to Waterbury, unfortunately Doyle would not make the tour until the following show in NYC. But he called me up and I brought him a special SunLion pedal to check out, and one for KWS too.
This year there would be some new players, like Brad Whitford, owner of King of Tone pedal serial#1, Johnny Lang who now has the newest KoT pedal, and Eric Johnson who I have been working with for many years.
Many of my favorites made it back again- Hubert Sumlin, Buddy Guy, Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox, Chris Layton, and Eric Gales. Robbie Krieger, Mick Taylor, Tommy Shannon, Robert Randolph, Kenny Olson, Corey Glover and Andy Aledort did not.
Here is Brad, his playing was VERY tasty, nice blues touch and tone. It was great to hear him play lead. Greg Howard was working with Brad and it was great to see him too. Brad was playing one of Greg's new 3 Monkeys amps and it looked and sounded great!
Here is Eric with his old reliable Marshall stack, conjuring up some Jimi voodoo.
Here are Kenny and Noah, lots of pedalboards up there!!! You can
see Eric's normal "board" in front of Noah with the big
Tube Driver and Echoplex and the old Fuzzface. Kenny still had my
KoT, Bichorus, and Analog Delay from last year.
Here I am with Kenny and his new signature series Strats, they look great!
This show was smoother than last year and Analog Tom and I really enjoyed it. Hope to see them again in '09!
